The world is full of people struggling under the weight of poor financial pressures, which they have made either because of “just not knowing” (lack of education and resources), or values that are destructive to good financial management.
Writing with Rands aims to address the need for Biblical financial education.
While much Biblical financial material focuses on giving, Writing with Rands offers a broader, empowering approach to improve financial situations while honouring God.
And yet, financial material outside of church is usually complex and focused on self.
Writing with Rands aims to combine the two worlds to provide:
- Simple and practical financial education,
- That improves people’s financial situation,
- While still honouring God and based on Biblical principles.
Taking this material, we equip and empower people IN and THROUGH their communities to bring lasting financial change.

Our name
We all have resources we manage every day – money, people, time and skills. These are the tools we’ve been given, the ink with which we write stories.
Resources in good, skilled, and intentional hands, will write stories of impact, hope, and lasting legacy. But money in unskilled hands? It becomes lost potential – a story left unwritten.
Writing with Rands exists to equip and empower people to steward well the finances and business entrusted to us.

Our team Jaco de Wet
Jaco is the founder of Writing with Rands.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA) & Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
- He spent a year lecturing at the University of Pretoria.
- He is a husband and a father of three children.
- He loves sport (sometimes a bit too much), running and birding.
- Jaco has a passion for teaching people Biblical financial principles.
